Welcome to our blog!
This is our life….in and out of our Airstream! This is stuff that makes us laugh!
After 23 years of living in beautiful Santa Barbara, California, we picked up and moved to energetic and crazy downtown San Diego. Just needed to shake things up a bit….wake up to new adventures.
In November of 2013, we upped the adventure quotient, and we bought an Airstream motorhome. One of the side effects of owning our new RV, has been that I have rediscovered my desire to write and to record the hilariousness that is every-day life.
WHO ARE WE??
We are Mark and Nancy. We are middle-age (%#@% ouch!), young at heart, creative peeps, musicians, athletes, and dog lovers.
One of us is bossy, one of us is claustrophobic, one of us drives too fast, and one of us is a lousy navigator.
I like weird stuff, I hate peas and lima beans, and I laugh at inappropriate, irreverent stuff.
Mark loves peas, hates lima beans, and he laughs at all of my stupid jokes and rantings.
We cycle, swim, surf, ski, and a bunch of other fun stuff, and we have a ping-pong table in our living room. Or, as I like to say, we have a couch in our ping-pong room.
We play guitar, fiddle, flute, and uke. Sometimes it’s a beautiful thing & sometimes not.
We don’t have TV. If we need a fix, we go to the gym and ride the treadmill.
We’ve had lots of jobs: Lifeguard, cashier, roofer, hotel maid, pizza maker, dishwasher, ice cream scooper, busker, waitress, grass waterer, concrete crew dude, stat camera operator, flag man on road crew, snack bar attendant, office worker, personal trainer, architect, copy writer, and photographer.
This is who we are.
Enjoy the ride with us….

Hi Mark and Nancy, nice to meet you. I’ve been exploring your blog and your adventurous life. I love the list of jobs above – it sounds very much like mine 🙂 (except for the copy writer and architect bits). Your love of life and adventure sounds like us too. It bounces off the screen from your blog. Laughed out loud at the president’s nostril bit. Don did too. It says a lot about you Mark 🙂
I know it’s been ages (we’ve been without internet for a while) but thanks for visiting our blog and for the ‘like’ on our About page.
Happy travels, Alison
Hi Alison! Thanks for reading the blog and for getting a bit of a laugh out of it. Life is really funny if you look at it through the right glasses! I could seriously laugh at a funeral, so, not sure what that says about me. LOL
I’ve been enjoying your blog as well. You and Don are the king and queen of travel.
Keep on traveling and keep on laughing!!
I recommend a movie called Death at a Funeral. Be sure you get the British 2007 movie which deservedly had far better reviews than the US 2010 remake. Alison
Sounds like it’ll be right up our alley. I’ll check it out. Thanks for the rec.. Hope your travels are going well.
Hi Mark & Nancy, found your blog on RVillage. I enjoyed reading about your travails with getting to Murietta and your enjoyment of things “wine”. It sounds like you guys would really enjoy Harvest Hosts for free overnight stays at wineries and farms. http://www.harvesthosts.com. We have lots of Airstream owners as well (I’m thinking of adding an Airstream group to our forum, we have so many.) Anyway, thanks for the fun read!
Hi Kim & Don. On my “To Do” list, is checking into Harvest Hosts. We do love wine & beer!!
Thanks for stopping by our blog!
What! You bought an air stream, so envious!!! Safe travels and lots of pics . . .
Yep! Bought it back in November. A Sprinter based motorhome (not a silver trailer). Will def take lots of pics, so check back in!!
A ping pong table in your living room? Fantastic!!!
Doesn’t everyone have one in the living room?! LOL
Sounds like you’re living the dream! Looking forward to following your adventures. Great blog.
Hi! Glad you like the blog. Well, I guess we were living the dream, since this big adventure happened last summer (note the 2014 dates)! But, hoping to get out on the road for more of the same!
Ah well I hope you have more Airstream adventures ahead! Something I’ve always wanted to do.
Thanks! And now that I just wrote the final blog post about our trip last summer, it’s time to go make new adventures!
