Day 49 July 28
First and most important item on the day’s “to do” list, was to scramble back to Naragannsett to pick up the pups from their vacation from their vacation. I was so happy to see them! And they seemed happy to see me too, so they must have had an ok time at Gnarly Dog.
Now that the four of us were reunited, we headed out of town. But we didn’t get too far, ‘cause just out of town, we saw a sign for Newport Vineyards. We made the obligatory stop and purchase of wine, and continued on our way.
We were headed to Cape Cod via Route 6. Specifically, we took Route 6, Exit #3, which was also marked as “Former Exit #2.” So, just like “the artist formerly known as Prince,” we took the “exit formerly known as exit #2.”
Cape Cod was beautiful! We meandered on Rt. 6A until we got to Shady Knoll Campground for the night. Had a dinner of sandwiches and beer, and listened to music from the Folk Festival. A fine and relaxing evening!
